So, as most of you know by now a friend of mine recently robbed a needs conveinent store. Let's call this friend G.power....wait that's too obvious ...let's call him Gary P. After much consideration , me and Wedge have decided to make a series of films detailing these events in a star wars like parody fashion. So far, the titles of these movies.
Gar Wars " The Drunken Menace "
Gar Wars " Attack of the Stoned "
Gar Wars " Revenge of the Dick "
Gar Wars " A New Dope "
The last two films of course being " Empire Strikes Back " and " Return of the Jedi " . Any suggestions???

It's been a while since I've updated bacause I wanted to put a lot of thought into this update. I am dedicating it to my all time favortie album by any artist. And that album is simply " Kid A " by Radiohead. Anyone who knows me probably knows this my favorite album but few people know why. I believe this to be a great soundtrack to life. There is no one song on this album that I prefer or reccomend, but I always suggest you put some time away and just listen to this album as a whole. Let's get on with it shall we?
1 . Everything In It's Right Place - The title alone gives a sense of security. But as you listen to this song you tend to hear beyond the title. Lines like " Yesterday I woke up sucking a lemon " which I believe to mean that even though you may think everything is o.k , you can wake up any day and be surprised to find that it's not. But it's a good thing that things are this way. " There are two colors in my head " just furthers this train of thought. The music that accompanies this track shows that nothing is as it seams at a first glance and makes you want to re-evaluate things we first perceive
2 . Kid A - The title track of the Album. Has a very soothing and peaceful melody which carries throughout the song. Hearing the lyrics can be a bit tricky on this one. But they have so much meaning that listinening to them makes it worth while. " We've got heads on sticks, you've got ventriloquists " is a repeated line there. When hasn't someone felt that they had someone talking for them out of turn? I'm sure we've all experienced people talking about us behind our backs and having people believe it. " Rats and Children follow me out of town, Rats and children follow me out of their homes " meaning how people will believe the lies and follow blindly.
3. The National Anthem - This song is the first song on the album that really picks up any sign of a normal instrument. With a driving bass line and killer drum riffs to follow makes it a more pleasing sound to most ears. Lyrically as well. " Everyone around here , Everone is so near Everyone has got the fear " . We are all so close in the sense we are afraid. The song takes a nice turn with the sound of an off beat trumpet coming in to finish this one off. It really mellows out to turn into...
4. How to Disapear Completely - Again, this one starts out kinda slow. Nice little guitar intro for the background. In comes the walking bass line to add a heavier tone to the song. This is the first song on the album where Thom's voice is more of an instrument then anything else. He carries lines like " I'm not here, this isin't happening " Co-inciding with the title here. Again, who among us hasn't felt like they have lived through a surreal moment in which it kinda feels like your completely removed from. Either due to a lack of emotion, or just an over wheleming ammount of it that makes of feel like we've dissapeared.
5. Treefingers - This is strickly an instrumental song. It's place on the album, right in the middle of it, is perfect and done for a reason. It lets you absorb the first half and prepare for the second. It's simply a pleasing song in which you can relax and enjoy the experience that is. Something not nearly enough of us do in life. Or at least not often enough.
6. Optimistic - This one has the most social commentary of all the songs on the album and even makes reference to the book " Animal farm " at one point. Essentially it's a song of survial of the fittest, but also the richest, fattest and with the most power. Lines like " Big fish eat the little ones " The ones who are optimistic in this case are pigs. " This ones optimistic, This one went to market , this one just came out of the swamp , this one dropped a payload , fodder for the animals, Living on Animal Farm " I'm not prepared to write an essay on Animal farm, but anyone who has read it will find an appreciation for this song regardless of liking the book or not.
7. In Limbo - " Your living in a fantasy " Too many people in the world live in their own little world. But not by choice. Everyone has their own existance in which they live. It's up to you what to make of it. The droning on in this song really is something to listen to. At first it sounds like drivel , but it has such a pleasing tone.
8. Idioteque - This is the one song most people will know off this album. It's a wonderful piece of music in which radiohead somewhat goes back to their roots. It's the closest to an older radiohead song , but still far from it. Lines like " Women and children first " , " Ice Age coming , Ice age coming " , " Were not scaremongering , this is really happening " is basically a comment on how things are shown to us by the powers that be. It's exactly the scaremongering that they promise you that they aren't doing. It teaches to question authority, and what they tell us. I know everyone reading this has been lied to by an " Authority " figure at some point in their lives and this song shows how easily it can be done.
9. Morning Bell - This song is not as it appears to be. It's the telling of the separation of two people. It's a very blunt yet somehow disguised telling of how people separate in life. " Cut the kids in half " " Clothes are all alone with the furniture " tells of how things are split. The kids are just as much object as the clothes and furniture. " The lights are on but nobody's home " in this case says how there was trying and trying, but no resolve could be found. We've all been in situations with people when there's simply no getting through to them.
10. Motion Picture Soundtrack - This tune starts out with a nice organ sound and Thom coming in with the lines " Red wine and Sleeping pills , help me get back into your arms " Someone trying to end their own life to get back to someone they've lost. The song is a telling of how life does eventually end for us all. A great song to tell the story of this life and it's end. " I think your crazy , Maybe , I'll see you in the next life " is how the song ends. Giving us hope that no matter what life has thrown at us, it has the chance to end in a beautiful way and start a new with ones lost. Music wise, the song seems to end...but then follows through with a sound that envokes the image of a light at the end of the tunnel where life does indeed start a new.
Well, that's it. This album has changed and shaped my life in many ways since it's release in 2000. I strongly reccomend anyone listen to it, as it may have the same or a very different effect on you. And if you don't like radiohead...then the hell with ya!!!
